Houthis Claim Missile Strike on Saudi City After Saudi Raids in Yemen

Yemen's Houthi rebels say they fired a missile at Jizan in southern Saudi Arabia, describing it as retaliation for Saudi strikes on Houthi military sites a day earlier. The Saudi-led coalition said its operation targeted positions it believes threatened commercial shipping. The Houthis had earlier declared a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia and reportedly attacked Saudi vessels in the Red Sea. The exchange has renewed fears of a wider return to fighting in Yemen. Saudi Arabia had mostly avoided direct confrontation with the Houthis since the 2022 truce, but recent attacks on airports, tankers and other infrastructure have increased pressure on Riyadh to respond.
