Deadly Raid in Sokoto: Chief Imam, Two Policemen Killed as Bandits Abduct Women
Bandits attacked Kuda-Kuda village in Goronyo LGA of Sokoto State at around 1am on June 23. They killed Chief Imam Liman Audu and three villagers, opened fire sporadically, stole livestock and abducted several residents, mostly married women. Three others were shot and taken to a Sokoto hospital, but their condition remains critical. In a separate incident in Tureta LGA, two police officers—Inspector Redmo Ijenwa and Constable Nura Muhammad—were killed during a gun battle with bandits. A third officer was wounded. The joint security team, including army troops and NSCDC officers, rescued 14 kidnapped victims and recovered stolen livestock and motorcycles under Operation Fansan Yamma.
