The Nigerian Army has graduated a new Special Forces battalion at the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Doma, Nasarawa State. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, said the unit was created to strengthen counter-terrorism operations and respond to complex security threats across the country. The personnel received training in land navigation, counter-IED procedures, anti-drone operations and rapid-response tactics. The battalion is expected to be deployed to frontline areas facing serious security challenges. Military authorities say sustained logistics, modern equipment, aerial surveillance and intelligence from communities will be important to its operations.
