Why Do I Lose Interest So Quickly After Asking a Woman Out?

I have met several women I genuinely liked and considered my type. But once I ask them out and they ask for time to think or get to know me better, I quickly lose interest. This has happened with four different women. Even when some of them later tried to reach out, I no longer wanted to continue. I am wondering whether something is wrong with me or if I need to take a break from relationships. Has anyone experienced this, and how can I handle it better?
