Dabiri-Erewa to Challenge Canada Over Visas Denied to Nigerian Governors

NiDCOM chairperson Abike Dabiri-Erewa says the Federal Government will raise concerns with Canadian authorities after several Nigerian governors and senior officials were reportedly denied visas for the Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference in Toronto. The event was designed to attract diaspora investment into Nigerian infrastructure. Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang was among the officials reportedly unable to attend. Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal attended the conference and presented investment opportunities in their states. Femi Gbajabiamila also represented President Bola Tinubu.

Government should seek a clear formal response, while conference organisers prepare remote participation options so the event's economic goals are not stalled.
