Peter Obi Condemns Enugu Attack on NDC Supporters, Warns Against Political Violence
Peter Obi has condemned the reported attack on Nigeria Democratic Congress supporters at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu State. The supporters were at the airport to welcome the party’s governorship candidate, Chinyeaka Ohaa, when thugs allegedly attacked them. The incident was reported to have claimed one life. Obi said political violence threatens everyone, warning that anarchy eventually affects both those in power and ordinary citizens. He also said some of his planned engagements in other states were cancelled after organisers allegedly received threats. The attack follows an earlier allegation by the NDC that its members were targeted during a grassroots meeting in Obuoffia Ward, Nkanu West LGA.
