Ohio Babysitter Charged After One-Month-Old Baby Dies Following Alleged Shaking
A one-month-old baby, Elijah Dennis, has died after he was allegedly forcefully shaken by a babysitter in Youngstown, Ohio. The child’s parents said they left Elijah with Christian Jones, a family friend, while they ran errands. They said they returned to find the baby unconscious, turning blue and limp. Police records reportedly state that Jones initially claimed the baby had been coughing before losing consciousness. He allegedly later admitted to shaking the child in an attempt to stop him from crying. Elijah was placed on life support but died after his organs began to fail. Jones has been arrested and charged with second-degree felonious assault.
