Uber to Shut Down Operations in Nigeria Today

Uber has announced that it will wind down its operations in Nigeria effective 2 September 2026, ending more than a decade of service in the country. The ride-hailing platform launched in Lagos in 2014 and said the decision followed a review of its business. It thanked riders and drivers for using the platform and acknowledged that the shutdown may disrupt commuters. Support for final account-related enquiries will remain available until 23 September 2026.
