Three Arrested in UK Over Alleged Fake LGBT Asylum Claims Network
UK immigration officers have arrested three people over an alleged network accused of helping migrants submit false LGBT-based asylum claims. Investigators say the group charged between £1,000 and £4,500 for forged support letters, staged photographs and other documents. Officers reportedly seized cash, phones and jewellery during raids in London. More than 100 asylum applications linked to the network are under review. The cases reportedly include claims from Bangladeshi men, while asylum claims based on sexual orientation have also risen among applicants from countries including Nigeria, where same-sex relationships are criminalised.
