Benue Group Urges EFCC to Probe Alia Administration’s Contracts and Spending
The Benue Ethnic Development Group has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate contracts, public expenditure and project execution under Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration. The group said the probe should examine approvals, payment records, contractors and the physical status of projects. It wants investigators to establish how much was released, who received payments and whether completed work matches the funds spent. It stressed that the allegations require an independent investigation and do not amount to a declaration of guilt. The group called on the EFCC to publish its findings and take action if evidence of wrongdoing is established.
