KC Luxury Sues NDLEA, Seeks ₦190m Over Alleged Unlawful Detention
Socialite and businessman Afolabi Kazeem Michael, known as KC Luxury, has sued the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Federal High Court in Lagos. He is seeking ₦190 million in damages over alleged unlawful arrest, continued detention and invasion of privacy. KC Luxury was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on August 13, 2026, while preparing to travel to Paris. The NDLEA said the arrest was linked to an investigation into the seizure of 184.50kg of cocaine allegedly connected to an international trafficking network. In his suit, he alleges that he was held for 14 days without being formally charged or told the specific offence involved. His family also alleges that operatives searched his Banana Island residence without a warrant and found no incriminating material. The court declined an ex parte request for his release and ordered the NDLEA to respond to the suit and produce him at the next hearing. The case is adjourned until September 9, 2026. The allegations have not been determined by the court.
