Connie Francis: Life, Music Career and Death at 87

Connie Francis, born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero, was an American singer and actress whose hits made her one of the biggest female recording artists of the late 1950s and early 1960s. She sold more than 200 million records during a career that spanned several decades. She broke through with her 1957 recording of “Who’s Sorry Now?” and later became the first woman to top the US Billboard Hot 100. Her best-known songs included “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool,” and she recorded in several languages, helping her build an international audience. Francis was married four times and also had a long-term relationship with Tony Ferretti until his death in 2022. After suffering health complications in 2025, including a hip injury and pneumonia, she died in Pompano Beach, Florida, on July 16, 2025, aged 87.
