Okereke Says She Will Not Restore Fuel Subsidy if Elected President
NRM presidential candidate Esther Okereke says her administration would not bring back the petrol subsidy if elected. She said the priority should be ensuring that savings from subsidy removal are managed transparently and used to improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians. According to her, the funds should support grassroots development, infrastructure, social welfare and economic opportunities. Okereke also raised concerns about Nigeria’s rising debt and called for government to block revenue leakages and make better use of the country’s resources instead of relying heavily on borrowing.
