Osun APC Legal Team Disowns Tribunal Petition Challenging Adeleke’s Victory
The Osun State APC legal team has denied authorising an election petition challenging Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the August governorship election. Notices displayed at the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal listed petitions involving the APC and its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, as well as the PDP. However, senior lawyer Adekunle Adegoke said neither the party nor its candidate filed or approved any petition. Adegoke said the legal team had advised the APC not to approach the tribunal after reviewing the election outcome. He said Oyebamiji had already congratulated Adeleke and that the party chose to allow peace in the state rather than pursue a legal challenge.
