Jos Bleeds Again: Government Fails to Curb Rising Violence

Jos has witnessed yet another outbreak of violence, exposing the deep insecurity in Plateau State and across Nigeria. Many lives and properties have been destroyed, and Nigerians are losing faith in government efforts to protect citizens. The repeated attacks highlight both state and federal government failures. Videos circulated online show a suspected bandit sympathizer threatening violence after the fast, yet no effective prevention measures were taken. Is this part of a Christian genocide? Similar attacks occurred on Palm Sunday 2025. If officials truly prioritized people’s safety, they would have acted to prevent these atrocities. This pattern of violence and inaction can’t be ignored.
