NAFDAC Arrests Manager Over Herbal Bitters With Allegedly Fake Registration Number

NAFDAC says it uncovered an illegal herbal-product manufacturing facility in Agege, Lagos, after receiving a report about products carrying suspected falsified registration numbers. The agency said it found three variants of Asheitu Adams Bitters labelled with registration number A7-1827L. Its verification reportedly showed that the number belongs to Greentol Cough Syrup, not the herbal products. The company’s managing director was not present during the operation. NAFDAC said the facility’s manager was arrested for further investigation and urged the public to report suspected illegal manufacturing activities.
