Lagos Governorship Debate Set for November 8 Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Nigeria Debate Consortium has fixed November 8, 2026, for a Lagos governorship debate ahead of the 2027 general elections. Candidates will outline their plans for Lagos and answer questions on transportation, infrastructure, security, housing, education, healthcare, jobs and economic growth. The debate is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Lekki and will be broadcast by member media organisations. The consortium says participating candidates will have equal speaking time and be held to the same moderation rules. The Lagos debate is expected to be the first in a series of electoral debates designed to help voters assess candidates’ priorities and readiness to govern.
