Police Arrest Man Over Fake Viral Video Accusing MC Oluomo of Murder
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a man accused of spreading false allegations against transport union leader Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo. The viral video claimed he was involved in the murder of a pregnant woman in Oshodi. Following a petition from MC Oluomo, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Federal Intelligence Department ordered an urgent investigation. The FID Intelligence Response Team, led by CSP Kasumu Rilwan, tracked the suspect to the Ikorodu area and took him into custody. The suspect admitted fabricating the story, expressed remorse during questioning, and appealed for leniency. A magistrate court granted a remand order to allow further inquiries and to identify any other individuals involved. He is now held at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
