APC Denies Alleged Plot Against Atiku, Says His Security Has Not Been Withdrawn
The APC Presidential Campaign Council has denied allegations of a plot to harm former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 election. In a statement issued on October 20, the council urged Timi Frank, who raised the allegation, to submit any evidence of a credible threat to law-enforcement agencies for investigation. The council also dismissed claims that Atiku’s security details had been withdrawn. It said he remains protected by the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services. It called for peaceful and issue-based political competition, rejecting what it described as baseless allegations against the Presidency and the APC.
