Gunmen Reportedly Attack Governor Adeleke’s Convoy After Osogbo Palace Visit

Gunmen reportedly opened fire on the convoy of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke shortly after he visited the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, on Wednesday. The incident reportedly happened after the governor left the palace, where he had presented his Certificate of Return to the monarch following his re-election. Witnesses said the shooting lasted about 12 to 15 minutes. An eyewitness said the attackers arrived in an unregistered Sienna vehicle from the Ita Olokan area. Security personnel attached to the governor allegedly exchanged gunfire with the assailants before they fled. No casualty was reported in the account.
