Troops Arrest Suspected ISWAP Operative in Borno’s Guzamala LGA
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai and Civilian Joint Task Force members have arrested a 25-year-old man suspected of links to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Mairari, Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State. The suspect was arrested on August 24 during an operation by troops of the Forward Operating Base in Mairari. Security personnel reportedly found a photograph on his phone showing him with unidentified people carrying AK-47 rifles, raising suspicion of possible ties to ISWAP. A Tecno phone, umbrella, arrow, prayer beads, mirror and eye drops were recovered. He has been transferred to Sector 3 Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai for further investigation.
