Attempted Beheading in Northern Ireland: Victim Loses Eye, Sparks Riots

A 44-year-old man in Northern Ireland lost his left eye after a Sudanese migrant allegedly tried to behead him. The victim suffered deep slash wounds to his head, face and back and serious damage to his right eye. The accused, 30-year-old Hadi Alodid, appeared in court on attempted murder and blade possession charges. He was arrested at the scene and denied bail over concerns he could reoffend or abscond. The stabbing set off anti-immigration protests across Northern Ireland, with petrol bombs hurled at police and homes and cars torched. Political leaders and law enforcement condemned the violence as cowardly and an insult to the victim.
