Petrol Pump Prices Remain Above ₦1,300 Despite Cheaper Depot Rates

Petrol prices at many filling stations in Lagos and Abuja remain as high as ₦1,325 per litre, even as depot prices have declined to between ₦1,266 and ₦1,280 per litre in Lagos. Dangote Refinery and Pinnacle reportedly sold PMS at ₦1,266 per litre, while MRS quoted ₦1,267. Other depots, including Aiteo, Integrated and Sahara, sold at about ₦1,270 per litre. Several depots in Warri and Calabar also recorded price reductions. Downstream operators say transport, storage, handling and filling-station operating costs affect the final pump price. Motorists are now waiting to see whether the lower wholesale rates will lead to meaningful relief at the pumps.
