Report: Netanyahu Sought UAE Denial of Pre-October 7 Hamas Warning

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly asked UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed to deny a report that the Emirati leader warned him about a possible Hamas attack shortly before October 7, 2023. According to sources cited by Israeli media, the two leaders held a private meeting in which Netanyahu also sought support over claims that he had been alerted to a planned major operation. The report said bin Zayed had warned that an attack could trigger bloodshed and destabilise the region. The account follows separate reports that Egyptian intelligence also warned Israel of a possible Hamas operation. Netanyahu has been accused of focusing security concerns more heavily on the West Bank than on Gaza before the attack.
