PeacePro Questions US Voting Record on Africa-Led UN Resolutions

The Foundation for Peace Professionals has raised concerns about what it describes as a two-decade pattern of the United States opposing collective African positions at the United Nations. The group cited a September 4 UN General Assembly vote on an African Union-backed resolution. It said 164 countries voted in favour, six abstained, while the United States was the only country to vote against it. PeacePro said it is reviewing UN voting records to establish how often the US has supported, opposed or abstained from Africa-sponsored and Africa-related resolutions across different US administrations. The organisation said its inquiry is intended to examine the consistency of US-Africa diplomatic relations, not to promote an anti-American narrative.
