Former Haniyeh Bodyguard Granted UK Asylum Faces Alleged Europe Attack Plot
A former bodyguard to late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was reportedly granted asylum and later British citizenship before being arrested in London over an alleged plot against Jewish targets in Germany or Austria. The Sunday Times reported that the suspect, identified only as “Mr. X” for legal reasons, was accused of helping to move weapons and ammunition linked to the planned attacks. German prosecutors allege that handguns, ammunition and a rifle were obtained for the operation. Authorities in Britain, Germany, Austria and Denmark reportedly worked together on the investigation. The suspect is expected to face legal proceedings in Britain before a possible extradition to Germany if the allegations are upheld.
