Diesel Price Hits ₦2,000 Per Litre in Abuja as Depot Rates Rise

The pump price of diesel, also known as Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), has risen above ₦2,000 per litre at several filling stations in Abuja and nearby areas. A market survey found that diesel now sells for between ₦2,000 and ₦2,020 per litre at outlets including AA Rano, Empire Energy and Ranoil. This is up from about ₦1,700 to ₦1,800 per litre, representing an increase of ₦300 to ₦320. The increase followed a rise in depot prices to about ₦1,900 per litre. Dangote Refinery had also raised its gantry diesel price by ₦100 to ₦1,850 per litre as global crude oil prices climbed.
