Midnight Raid: Bandits Kidnap Residents in Kano’s Sundu and Yanoko
Suspected armed bandits struck under cover of darkness in Sundu and Yanoko communities of Rogo LGA, Kano State. In Sundu, they abducted one person, while a woman was taken in Yanoko. Security analyst Bakatsine warned that gaps in local intelligence and weak rural policing are enabling these attacks. He noted the lack of early-warning systems and poor communication infrastructure leave villages exposed. Residents now fear moving outdoors at night and are urging state authorities to step up security. Local officials have yet to confirm the full number of abductees or any arrests, and police representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
