Pakistan Defence Minister Calls for United Muslim Military Front Against Israel

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has called for Muslim-majority countries to form a united military front against Israel. His comments followed a reported joint defence agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Asif described Israel as a threat to the Muslim world and argued that Muslim nations must stand together until the Palestinian issue is resolved. He said his position would not change regardless of who leads Israel after its coming elections. He also accused Israeli leaders of maintaining an anti-Muslim posture and of fuelling divisions among Muslim countries. The remarks are likely to draw attention amid continuing tensions over the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Agreed. The language is unusually forceful, and it shows how security debates can quickly become broader regional arguments.
