Man Arrested for Ex-Wife’s Murder in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested Awwalu Aliyu for the death of his ex-wife in Taura Local Government Area. Her body was discovered on April 3, 2026 at the outskirts of Gurjawa Village. Police received a report at Gujungu Division around 7:30am and evacuated the victim to a hospital where a medical practitioner confirmed her death. Investigations revealed that Aliyu and an associate, Hudu Alhassan, lured her under the guise of taking her home. Alhassan was dropped midway, after which the offence is alleged to have been committed. Blood stains on a motorcycle led to the arrest of an okada rider, Umar Suleiman, who had lent the bike. Both suspects have been charged to court.
