Ondo Targets 1,000 Small Businesses With Solar Power Under Lucky Light Initiative
Ondo State has launched the Lucky Light Initiative, a solar-power programme expected to provide clean and affordable electricity to 1,000 small businesses across the state’s 18 local government areas. The initiative was unveiled at the 2026 Ondo State Entrepreneurship Agency Entrepreneurs Summit in Akure. It will be implemented in phases and is intended to reduce energy costs for small businesses. The programme also includes grants and business-support packages for 20 young entrepreneurs selected through the My IDEA programme. The state also plans to support 500 young entrepreneurs through proposed investments in Dangote Group shares. The Etikan Ward councillor said business owners and young people in Ilaje and other parts of Ondo should take advantage of the available opportunities.
