At Least 21 Killed as Floods and Landslides Ravage Nepal

At least 21 people have died, while five others remain missing, after four days of heavy rainfall triggered widespread flooding and landslides across Nepal. Authorities said about 3,000 residents were evacuated and hundreds of homes were damaged or destroyed between September 24 and 27. The Narayani River rose above its danger level and entered nearby settlements, while landslides blocked highways leading to Chitwan. In Baglung district, a landslide buried and killed four people in Nishikhola. The Kaligandaki River also swept away houses and bridges, leaving some communities cut off. Videos from Mustang District show parts of a mountainside collapsing into the river as residents watched in distress.
