Six Years After Lekki Toll Gate, Who Gave the Order?
Today marks six years since the Lekki Toll Gate shooting during the #EndSARS protests against police brutality and the former Special Anti-Robbery Squad. Videos and eyewitness accounts from 20 October 2020 sparked national and international scrutiny. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu later acknowledged that shooting occurred at the toll gate, although the circumstances and casualty figures remain disputed. Six years on, survivors, families and Nigerians who remember the victims still seek clear accountability over who authorised the use of force against peaceful protesters.
