Suspected Bandits Kill Seven and Burn Homes in Zamfara’s Gusau Communities

Suspected bandits stormed Marake, Kaura and Karazau in Gusau LGA on Thursday. They opened fire on residents and engaged security operatives and local volunteers. The attack left five security officers and two residents dead. The gunmen razed a shop, three motorcycles and a vehicle in Marake and Kaura. Further damage was reported in Karazau. Despite heavy losses, security personnel and vigilantes repelled the assailants and prevented them from seizing control of the communities. This incident is the latest in a series of violent raids by armed gangs in Zamfara State, where rural areas continue to face kidnappings, killings and property attacks.
