Naturalized Nigerian-British Convict Found Dead in Georgia Jail
Olaolukitan Adon-Abel, a 26-year-old Nigerian-born UK immigrant and Navy veteran, was found unresponsive in his cell in a DeKalb County, Georgia, detention center on April 21, 2026. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead and officials say they do not suspect foul play as they launch an internal review. Adon-Abel had been serving a sentence for a killing spree that left three people dead, including Department of Homeland Security auditor Lauren Bullis. Authorities say he first shot a woman outside a Checkers restaurant, then gunned down a homeless man near a Kroger before attacking Bullis during her early-morning dog walk. Investigators highlight Adon-Abel’s prior convictions for assault, obstruction and other charges before his naturalization under the current US administration. A motive for the random crimes remains unclear while officials continue their review of his death.
