Ogun Police Detain Pastor Over Alleged Abuse of 16-Year-Old Stepdaughter

Ogun State Police Command has detained a Celestial Church pastor following allegations that he abused his 16-year-old stepdaughter. A human-rights group alleged in a petition that the abuse began when the girl was 14, after her mother married the suspect and moved with her children to his home in Shimawa, Ogun State. The petition also alleged that the teenager was threatened to stop her from reporting the matter. The group said police invited the suspect, the girl’s mother and a church pastor for questioning. It added that the teenager was taken to a hospital for medical examination, while police continue their investigation and consider child-protection support for the affected children.
