Osun Police Summon Senator Fadahunsi Over Alleged Threat Against Accord Supporters
Osun State Police Command has summoned Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East, over a viral campaign comment in which he allegedly told APC supporters to kill members of the Accord Party. In a letter dated August 11, the police asked Fadahunsi to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Osogbo on August 12. The command said the remarks were considered threatening, inciting and intimidating. Fadahunsi later said his words were misunderstood. His team said he meant supporters should defeat the Accord Party with votes, not violence, ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate seeking re-election, has previously accused the APC of using thugs to attack his supporters.
