Abia Pledges Faster Work on Owaza Industrial Park, Refinery and CNG Plans
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has pledged to speed up construction of the Abia Industrial Innovation Park in Owaza, Ukwa West LGA, in the coming weeks and months. During a visit to the site, the governor said the new managing director, Sandra Ivonye-Ntofon, would assess outstanding work and help move the project towards completion. The state said several companies and organisations had shown interest in the park. The Commissioner for Petroleum said plans for a modular refinery and compressed natural gas facility could help harness Abia’s oil and gas resources, create jobs and support development in Ukwa West and neighbouring communities. Local representatives urged the government to translate the plans into visible progress for residents.
