DoorDash Driver Indicted for Recording Intoxicated Customer at Home and Sharing on TikTok
A DoorDash driver in upstate New York was indicted by a grand jury on charges of unlawful surveillance and dissemination of an unlawful image. Prosecutors say she secretly filmed a customer who was passed out and partially exposed inside his home, then posted the clip on TikTok where it went viral. Through her attorney, the 23-year-old pleaded not guilty when she appeared in Oswego County Court on May 1. She was released pending her next hearing in June. Court documents state the video showed the man asleep on his couch without his knowledge or consent, reaching nearly 30 million views before it was removed. Investigators later determined the customer had not interacted with the driver and was simply drunk. She faces up to eight years in prison if convicted. DoorDash deactivated her account after confirming the post violated its privacy policies.
