CSOs Accuse EFCC, ICPC and Police of Ignoring Alpha-Beta Petitions
The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, Lagos chapter, and other civil society groups have accused the EFCC, ICPC and Nigeria Police Force of failing to act on petitions alleging forgery and unpaid staff tax remittances involving Alpha-Beta Consulting. The groups said the petitions concern allegations that the firm, which collects taxes for Lagos State on commission, failed to remit tax deductions due to the state. They also alleged that a former employee and whistleblower, Segun Oluwasanmi, has faced harassment and court action after raising the claims. The groups asked the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the conduct of an officer involved in the case, review the charges against Oluwasanmi and revive investigations into the allegations against the company. The matter was adjourned to September 23, 2026, at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
