Hamzat Says Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Prospects Are Stronger Than in 2023

Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat says President Bola Tinubu has a stronger chance of winning re-election in 2027 than he had during the 2023 presidential race. Speaking on a television programme, Hamzat said religious and regional concerns, including debate over the Muslim-Muslim ticket, shaped voters’ views in 2023. He argued that these concerns have reduced since Tinubu assumed office. Hamzat said voters can now assess Tinubu’s record in government, including his appointments and policies. He maintained that the President does not make decisions based on religion or ethnicity and said this would strengthen his position ahead of 2027.
