Australian Police Seize Handguns Disguised as Mobile Phones
Police in Queensland, Australia, have seized two foldable handguns allegedly designed to resemble mobile phones during a raid at Deception Bay, north of Brisbane. Officers also recovered two other pistols, ammunition, suspected drugs and a motorcycle reported stolen. Four men were charged with offences linked to weapons, drugs and stolen property, and are due to appear in court. Police say similar disguised weapons, including phone-style guns and improvised pen guns, have previously been found in other parts of Australia. The discovery raises concerns about how easily such weapons could be mistaken for everyday devices and whether criminal networks elsewhere, including Nigeria, could attempt to copy them.
