Middle-Aged Man Stabbed to Death by Suspected Phone Snatchers at Kawo Bridge, Kaduna
Suspected phone snatchers killed an unidentified middle-aged man at Kawo Bridge in Kaduna State on Saturday, March 28, 2026, around 8pm. The victim was hurrying to board a commercial tricycle when the assailants confronted him. Eyewitnesses said the attackers demanded the man’s mobile phone. As he tried to hand it over, one of them stabbed him in the chest. They then fled the scene, leaving him unconscious in a pool of blood. Passersby rushed to help but could not pursue the suspects. Local resident Bashir Umar described Kawo Bridge as a known crime hotspot and urged security agencies to increase patrols and install surveillance measures. He recalled that a navy officer was killed there last year after refusing to surrender his phone. Traders near the bridge also called for urgent intervention. They want more police patrols and security cameras to deter criminals and protect commuters.
