French Gang Accused of Plotting to Kidnap Kylian Mbappé and Other Celebrities
French authorities say Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé was among 26 wealthy and high-profile people allegedly targeted by a criminal gang. Investigators reportedly found the addresses of footballers, rappers, jewellers and businesspeople on two phones seized from an 18-year-old suspect in pre-trial detention. The suspect allegedly used the phones to issue instructions from custody. According to French media, the suspect had previously been linked to armed robbery, pimping and organised robbery. He reportedly denied being the mastermind and asked to be removed from solitary confinement.
