Police Arrest 11 Over Alleged Cult Initiation Near University of Calabar
The Cross River State Police Command says it arrested 11 men after responding to a report of suspected cult initiation activity in a bush near the Engineering Department of the University of Calabar. Police said operatives of its Violent Crime Response Unit worked with the university’s security personnel to cordon off the area on October 22. A Lexus 350 car and three motorcycles were recovered after some individuals reportedly fled the scene. The command said investigators are still establishing each suspect’s role and whether the recovered vehicles are linked to the alleged activity. All the suspects are presumed innocent unless found guilty by a court.
