Oklahoma Daycare Worker Charged After Video Allegedly Shows Abuse of Children

Police in Moore, Oklahoma, say surveillance footage showed a home daycare worker allegedly mistreating two children while changing their diapers on June 26. Investigators allege that Samantha Pearson put wet wipes in the children’s mouths to stop them from crying. The footage reportedly also showed her forcefully placing a child on a changing table and slapping the child. Pearson, 25, faces three counts of child abuse and was being held on a $300,000 bond as of August 25. The state’s Department of Human Services is investigating, and prosecutors stressed that she is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
