Soludo Pardons Akwa Okuko, Appoints Him Anambra Youth Reformation Ambassador
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has pardoned native doctor Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, and appointed him an Ambassador for Youth Reformation. Nwangwu was arrested over allegations of promoting money rituals, sudden wealth and the use of human parts for rituals. He reportedly reached a plea agreement with the state government and received an 11-month prison sentence at the Amawbia Correctional Facility. His release was reportedly conditional on renouncing the practices linked to the case and supporting youth reformation efforts. The governor’s aide on youth reformation said the pardon was granted under the prerogative of mercy during Soludo’s visit to the facility.
