Zelensky Warns Trump Against Easing Sanctions on Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says his differences with US President Donald Trump are not personal, but he opposes any move to ease pressure on Russia. Speaking from Kyiv, Zelensky warned that lifting sanctions would strengthen President Vladimir Putin and make it harder for Ukraine to resist Russia’s invasion. He said Ukraine needs continued sanctions and stronger air-defence and missile support from its allies. Zelensky said he is open to stopping the fighting along the current front lines, but rejected any deal that would formally surrender Ukrainian territory or recognise Russian control of occupied areas.
