Lagos Arrests 27 Suspects Over Alleged Vandalism of Festac-Alakija Bridge

The Lagos State Government says 27 suspects were arrested after alleged vandalism of a newly constructed bridge linking Festac Town and Alakija. Officials said the suspects allegedly removed iron rods, steel reinforcements, cables and other materials needed to support the bridge. The damage was said to pose a serious risk to public safety and the structure's integrity. The arrests followed a joint midnight operation by the Rapid Response Squad and the Kick Against Indiscipline task force. Authorities say the suspects will be prosecuted under Lagos State laws.
