Finance Minister Oyedele Urges Focus on Real-World Impact of Reforms
Minister of Finance Taiwo Oyedele inaugurated a new advisory committee in Abuja. He said fiscal reforms must deliver real benefits for businesses and citizens rather than remain on paper. The committee will offer independent, evidence-based counsel on policy effects. Oyedele asked members to identify risks early, bring in international best practices and track impacts on factories, shops and communities. He outlined four pillars for their work: economic policy, public financial management, coordination and stakeholder engagement. Nigeria aims for 7% annual GDP growth and a $1 trillion economy by 2030, and the committee’s advice will inform ministerial decisions and presidential briefings.
